ALINEA
GRAPHIC DESIGN | Application

Alinea is not a restaurant, at least in a conventional sense. Featured molecular gastronomy dishes stimulate not only the taste but the other four senses as well: sight, hearing, touch, and smell.

The concept of this project is to create a takeout bag that reveals the atmosphere of a restaurant. Alinea is a restaurant that evokes customers curiosity—and so does the bag should. Textured gray color is depicted from the exterior of the Alinea restaurant located in Chicago. It is carefully designed to make customers to resolve their curiosities by interacting with the bag.

When the bag is decomposed, customers should be able to see the ingredients used for each dish along with the small menu. Futura is a chosen typeface for the menu text since it is created based on geometric forms, which matches the concept of gastronomy dishes: part haute cuisine and part science project.
